What do you say to a long lost love?
Whom you cherished more than heaven above
By all worldly possession you would have sent
For one mere moment to be well spent
What do you say to the cause of a broken heart?
Who did scatter your minds art
Of bells, a lifetime and children
To leave you in the dead of winter to be frozen
What do you say to they who refuse?
To share one more word, after them you lose
Despite your honest shouts and cries for them to hear
All your words fall on deaf ears
What do you say to your minds constant thoughts?
Whom you cast your worries and happenings to be ought
And lay awake from night to night
Them belonging to another, your greatest fright
What do you say to them who linger?
In your heart many years later
Keeping open old wounds and pains
Living out as you see your final days
What do you say to they who return?
Years later, wanting you, one learns
Back desperately and they sound
Like your old past self, many years-bound
What do you say while you glare?
At them who toss your heart down stairs
Clasping their shoulders, peering into their eyes
Here is the one who left you dead inside!
As you mind floods in the past
Of times you thought would surely last
But at Deaths door they were laid
Now, what do you honestly say?!
Nothing
but embrace them.

"I'm not crazy cause I take the right pills every day" - Jimmy Eat World, Bleed American
This is the first poem in a long while I've actually been pretty proud of, so I was having a bit of a fun time trying to get myself *not* to submit it earlier.
I might want to revisit it sometime later to mop up the rhythm though... -shrugs-
I like the rhythm
